{The Ordinary Moments} #16- My Little Gummy Bear…

This photo signifies a very everyday Ordinary Moment, bathtime, but it also signifies the end of what we have been calling ordinary for the last nine months.

Our little Gummy Bear.

My baby girl has a smile that would light a room.  Now I know I would say that as I am her Mama, but she really does have the biggest, widest and happiest grin when she really smiles.  I wish I could bottle it up and play it over and over as it doesn’t help but make us laugh every time she does it.

Yesterday morning Mr E was playing with LL on the bed and making her giggle, when he noticed that two little friends had made an appearance- her top two toothy pegs.  She has had her bottom ones for a couple of months now, but it seems that we now have more to join the party.  They didn’t come as a shock, there were the usual signs that they were imminent- the rosy cheeks, slightly grumpy temprament and the need to have everything in sight in her mouth, but I can’t help but feel slightly sad that they are finally here.

The top teeth change their whole smile- they make them look instantly older, less ‘baby like’ and signify the end of those gummy smiles.  Of course her smile will still be beautiful, but I will miss that open wide, slightly gurning, toothless smile.

My beautiful LL is growing so quickly, and while it is a privilege and wonderful to watch her grow, I can’t help but feel a little sad about just how fast it is going.
