My Week That Was #28
Not that anyone has probably noticed but I have been a little quiet on the blogging front recently. For the first time in ages I have no blog posts lined up in my drafts. I also have not been visiting other blogs as much as I should- for that I am sorry! I have been very busy with other things, but rest assured normal service should resume soon I hope. It is nice to have a bit of a break sometimes.
Without further ado here is My Week That Was.
Monday was a work day and nothing exciting happens on those as we all know by now. We went over to my Mum’s for dinner in the evening like we normally do which was very nice. It is lovely living so close to her after my years of living in Leeds and London.
Tuesday was another work day, the most exciting thing that happened was that I had my favourite baguette for lunch- chicken and ketchup. Disgusting to most but yummy to me. The ladies in the sandwich shop did give me a strange look.
Wednesday I worked in the morning and then I met one of my closest work friends for lunch before I went home. It is strange as we used to be on the same team but we both went on maternity leave and now work different days so we only see each other on a Wednesday morning. I then went home and half tidied my house and half relaxed on the sofa!
Thursday was my day off and we went out in the morning to see friends. We went to Woodgreen Animal Shelter which is just down the road from me, it is a nice morning out for the babies. There are lots of farm animals there, as well as the dogs and the cats, but it also makes me feel sad that I can’t take them all home. If we had the room I would definitely have lots of pets. In the afternoon I went shopping with my sister, where she very kindly bought me a pair of Converse trainers. It was very lovely of her, and I love them lots. In the evening my Dad and his wife came over with fish and chips and we had a yummy take away and a catch up.
Friday was such a miserable day that Mads and I decided to have a PJ day. We don’t have them very often as on our days off I like to see friends but it was very well needed. We relaxed, played and had a lovely time together. She was a little under the weather and kept playing with my ear- she always does this for comfort. It was nice to relax and be together.
Saturday we got up and went to Ikea in Milton Keynes to buy Mads a play kitchen. It is amazing and she loves it, we bought her a mini saucepan kit, some play food and a little tea set. She has been playing with it non stop since we bought it. In the evening Mr E cooked my favourite risotto and we snuggled on the sofa with chocolate buttons.
Sunday has been a chill out day. I attempted my first recipe for the Disaster Chef competition- four cheese quiche which went a little wrong as my pastry was too dry. Therefore I skipped that one and I will try again later in the week. Instead we went for the second recipe Sausage Plait, it doesn’t look the best but hopefully it will taste ok. We will know in 40 minutes time! We went to the park when the weather was reasonable and just generally relaxed.
And that was My Week That Was…
