My Week That Was #23
Another week has passed and it is now Sunday again. This week has been lovely as I have had the week off work. Woo hoo. Without further ado here is My Week That Was.
Monday was the Jubilee bank holiday and we went to a street party. We had a great day and really enjoyed having fun with some of our friends and family. All in all it was a great way to celebrate the Jubilee.
Tuesday was a little bit more low key after the celebrations of the day before. We went for a nice long walk in the morning and took Mads to the park and then in the afternoon we went over to my Dads to say goodbye to my Grandparents who were going back to Shropshire that evening. In the evening I enjoyed a night out to the cinema with my NCT girls. We went to see ‘What to expect when you’re expecting’ which was really good and quite funny.
Wednesday was back to normal, except I didn’t have to go to my day job. I did however spend the day at home, catching up on freelance work and jobs as Mads went to her Auntie Paula’s. It was nice to get things done.
On Thursday we went to a Jubilee party at the local baby group we go too. It was very cute and we did some art and crafts, Mads made a bunting picture and we took it home for Daddy. There was lots of yummy food and we enjoyed having a picnic, topped off with jelly and ice cream. In the afternoon we came home and Mads had a two and a half hour nap which was rather nice.
Friday we went over to my Mum’s salon in the morning and I was very lucky to be treated to a bit of a pamper session. I had a lovely facial, waxing done and my minx nails for holiday. I am so lucky to get these lovely treatments for free and the fact that Mads gets to run around in there as Grandma owns it! In the afternoon we went to the garden centre to meet our friends for lunch- the babies had a great time running around causing mischief.
Saturday was a chilled out day as we wanted a quiet weekend before our holidays. We went to our local country park in the morning and Mads was in her element on a massive slide- she is certainly a dare devil my daughter. Then in the afternoon we came home and chilled out. I nipped up to my Mum’s where I got a lovely surprise- our lovely friend Paula who looks after Mads had given us £50 to treat Mads while are on holiday, and my Mum gave us £60. She really is the luckiest girl in the whole world. In the evening we watched a film and Mr E cooked risotto.
Sunday, today has been another chilled out day. We walked into town and bought a few bits for our holiday. We then came home and Mads and I went to the park for a picnic and a play on the playground with one of my NCT girls, in order to give Daddy a bit of a relax. We then went to Tescos and bought dinner before coming home and chilling out in the house. All in all a lovely weekend.
